Pecker Patchnotes Version 0.6
Pecker is getting bigger! New skills, new skins, new music, new bug-fixes, a new language, a store to spend these shiny in-game coins, and the most important thing: NEW HATS!With version 0.6. we are taking a big step towards the finished game. Thanks to everyone who played the demo, supported the Early Access and all your feedback!
Here are the detailed patch notes:
New Content
- Vending Machine “Shop”: A new vending machine has been added where players can purchase abilities.
- Added Ability ‘Forward Dash’: A new dash move allows players to quickly move forward.
- Added Ability ‘Net Climbing’: Players can now climb nets as a new mobility option.
- Added Twitch Integration: Streamers can now connect their twitch account, so viewers can trigger events in the game like spawning sheep or letting money rain.
- Hat-Insurance: Hats will return to you after falling into the void.
- Zuckerwatte Hats: Added fluffy new Zuckerwatte hats for players to wear.
- Spice Pot: A new interactive object, the spice pot, has been added.
- New Skin: Introduced a new black-green skin for player customization.
- New Skin: Introduced a fluffy new skin inspired by Appa.
Audio and Music
- Level Music:Â Music has been added to the following levels, completing the list for now:
- Castle Yard
- Castle Tower
- Ice Mountain
- Snow Slide
- Forest
- Canyon
- Trumpet Sound: Added a fun trumpet sound when using the golden climb-helper.
Localization
- Portuguese (Brazil): Added full support for the Brazilian Portuguese language.
Gameplay Improvements
- Improved Combat Animations: Players and enemies show more feedback during combat.
- Enemy Healthbars: Now visible for better combat feedback.
- Fixed Enemy AI: Resolved issue where enemies would get stuck; added ragdoll effect upon defeat.
- Destructible Objects: Objects now show visible cracks when damaged, with added dust effects when breaking.
- Camera Adjustments:
- Camera no longer clips into the ground.
- Players turn transparent when too close to the camera, preventing the unsettling “creepy eyes” effect.
- Improved tree dithering when the camera moves inside trees for better visual clarity.
- Grass now becomes semi-transparent when looking upwards, improving visibility.
- Swimming Improvements: Swimming mechanics have been fine-tuned for smoother control and responsiveness (no longer floating above water).
- Increased Falldamage Height: Adjusted the fall damage threshold, so players can fall from higher distances without getting hurt.
Combat & Interaction Enhancements
- Multi-object Slicing: You can now hit multiple objects with a single slice.
- Player-Player Damage: Fixed player-on-player damage; when hit, players will now drop (half of) their hats/fruit.
- Idle Animations: Idle animations no longer trigger when climbing or carrying items.
- Level-end Statistics: Fixed some values in the level-end statistics to display correctly.
- Outline for Padlocks: Padlocks now have a visible outline to indicate they are interactive.
- Fog Graphics Settings: Fixed the fog rendering under certain graphics settings.
- Respawn Transition (Lakitu Style): Added a new “Lakitu-style” transition when respawning after taking fall damage or falling into the void.
Physics
- Fixed “White Dots” Trajectory: Corrected the trajectory display of the white dots to accurately show the path.
- Rope Physics & Feet Placement: Rope physics have been fixed, and foot placement on ropes has been improved.
- Fixed Cardboard Box Physics: The physics of cardboard boxes have been improved for more realistic interactions.
- Fixed Wooden Elevator (Village Level): Corrected the behavior of the wooden elevator in the Village level.
- Fixed Split-screen Glitch: Resolved an edge-case where one half of the screen would appear black during split-screen gameplay.
- Fixed Floating Hats: Hats no longer float when respawning via the splitscreen menu.
- Fruit Stacking: Stacking fruit is now limitless, with the player’s beak bending accordingly.
